In the Biomedical program, students will understand the physical effects on cells by introducing them to the multidisciplinary field of biomedical engineering and the application of engineering principles to solving problems in biology, physiology, forensic and medicine. Students will participate in hands-on lab activities on topics such as the Human Genome Project, DNA fingerprinting, cancer research treatment options such as designing medical devices for the future and the effects of concussions when playing a sport with a helmet. Students will also have to create a business plan for their biomedical firm with a business logo, 30 seconds elevated speech, and three marketing strategies for the future company.
